Hi Peeps,

Its been a while since I posted a thread regarding any piece of my hardware, so go easy on me :)

I've had my new system built since christmas and it has been running well.
DFI Lamparty UT
Opteron 146 clocked to 2.8
2x512mb Corsair 3200XMS
X800 GTO2 Flashed to a X850.
Tagan 530w PSU

I don't play any games at the mo except for NFS:MW which I actually love. However it randomly crashes. The picture freezes the sound goes in a loop. I did test to see if it had hard locked by pressing the caps key which does turn on and off. This lasts for about one minute and then completely locks.

I'm confident the CPU is stable as I have left prime running for three nights with no errors. I did however flash the card to a X850 before even installing Windows XP from TechPowerup

The card has been left at the default Core and Memory 400/490.

The only thing I can think of that is causing it is that the fact that I have flashed it and the extra pipelines may be causing it to crash? On another note it locked the other day when playing NFS:MW exactly how I described it. This time though the picture went all corrputed and then resumed where it had left off. I thought it might be overheating? whilst I am writing this ATI Tool is reporting the temperature to be at 40.

So before I flash it has anyone got any idea what could be causing it?

EDIT: I have just downlaoded Catalyst 6.4 drivers and will disable VPU recover and try it again.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Unsure, I could play a bit of NFS leave it running then check the temps over.
I'll post back results.

EDIT: Managed to play for one hour before crashing again. This is really starting to hack me off. I haven't checked the temps yet as this would be mean pasuing the game and dropping back to windows. There are no errors showing In event viewer related to graphics issues either I've tried cats 6.4 and still no difference. Can anyone suggest anything else? I may need to flash my card back to standard if this keeps on which I don't really eant to do.

Cheers
