Hi,

I have an X800 GTO2 card, which has an S-Video input. Is it possible to, say, hook up a console to this card, and be able to play at a fairly-decent quality? If so, what software do I need?

Thanks.

You'd need to plug your monitor into the console, not the console into the PC. I think X360s have trouble with upscaling on PC monitors, too, so you might end up with a stretchy picture (if you're using an X360, that is.)

I just assumed that I could go Console -> Card -> Monitor. Why does the card have a Video-in socket if I can't use it? Seems kinda pointless to me.

I don't own an X360, just Xbox + Gamecube. Just thought it would be nice to play on a larger screen.

The card has VIVO for TV-in and stuff like digital camcorder-in. You can still play your Xbox on the monitor by buying an adapter to plug your monitor into the back, not sure about Gamecube though. Either way your PC won't be involved.

Thanks for the help.

As it has TV-in, though, couldn't I just use that? I did a quick test in MSN Messenger's Audio/Video wizard, and it was able to display a feed from my Xbox as a test- so I know it works, I just want to be able to play it at full-screen.

What software does ATi provide for the TV-in function? I'm majorly confused and can't find it on their site.

Might as well try it then, but your games won't be accellerated by your graphics card, the Xbox will still be doing all the work.

As for using VIVO, I don't even know because I don't use it. Should all be in Catalyst Control Centre though.
