My brother in law bought an ATI Radion X800 when they first came on the market it was about £350 any how he is have some problems, they started after he up dated the driver, what would be the best driver for such an old money munching card there are so many ones about. should he go back to a driver closer to the date of purchase or sell it and get a X1900, how much would he get for a X800 512mem these days.

which drivers did he update to and from?

the most recent drivers should work with it fine (i think)

did he just install the drivers over the old ones? if not he might wanna uninstall them then try using driver cleaner and then installing them again could solver his problem
 
I've just updated a mate's vidcard drivers to cats 6.12 from cats 5.7 when he updated to an x800xt from a 9700pro. All I did was instal the new ones over the old ones, job done. You can try that method first, but if you have issues of any kind, then uninstal the drivers, go into safemode and instal the drivers whilst in there, restart and everything should be fine.
