Hi,

I got a ST20G5 shuttle, running a Sapphire X800GT 256MB pci-e graphics card. Its been fine for the past year, no problems at all, running cs:s, hl2 happily. I reformatted, and reinstalled windows recently and whatever i do it doesnt want to play any form of a video.

If i put a dvd in it pushes cpu usage sky high and crashes. Same with xvids, divx's etc. It doesnt even load the video on screen, it just grinds to a halt. I cant remember what drivers i had before, and i tried old ones, and new ones, installed dvd codec, xvid, divx. Any ideas what the problem could be? ive tried 3 different catalyst drivers, so maybe its not that, and something else i havent thought of.

I tried the onboard graphics and it seems to work fine on that, so im wondering if ive done something wrong, or am totally overlooking something.
Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

It might be worth installing a Codec pack, just to make sure you have all the required codecs.

CCCP is good.

Downloaded and installed. Still crashed.

I then realised the first thing i did after reinstalling windows was update my bios with the winflash utility. I rolled back to an older bios and its fine :s very strange.
If someone could explain that id appreciate it.

Cheers
