Ive just bought a Primo Lite system from overclockers which comes with onboard graphics and has a pci-e x16 slot to enable expansion. when buying this pc, overclockers gives the opition of an addional graphics card being the 8600gt which I decided not to add but instead would like to try an older x800gt that I have been able to get hold of. I dont know much about power supplys and the amount of power required to run all the individual components in a pc but was wondering if my system could handle it.
E2200 2.2ghz cpu
2gb ocz ram 6400
seagate 80gb hd
DVD-RW
Onboard sound
300W psu
I know that both the 8600gt and the x800gt only draw power from the pcie slot and dont require any other cables directly from the psu, which makes me think that the two cards use low power consumption. surely if overclockers gives the option of adding an additional 8600gt, my pc should be able to handle the x800gt?
