Was wondering, how does my X800Xt 256mb AGP card copare to these two cards?

X550 PCI-E 256Mb
X1300 PCI-E 512Mb

Thanks guys. :D

Given the choice out of the three, i would take the x800, it is much faster.

(unless i had a 30" screen, in which case i would get the x1300)

x800xt destroys them both.
The x1300 has sm3 support, but its got 512mb of memory, so no doubt its a hunk of crap with the selling point being the 512.
plus 1300s wer crap anyway.

Thats a pretty bad summary,

ok, using your logic, 8800gtx sli and core2quad owns everything and anything that is under is is a steaming pile of crap and there is no point to it.

They are different classes and generations.

You could read that? I'm impressed. :o

The X800XT was a remarkable piece of kit and is a lot better than either of the other graphics cards you mentioned in terms of raw horsepower, and sheer fps.

However, the other two will probably (read: "I haven't checked, but they're a recent development so...) support HDCP and whatnot, meaning that they will be able to play the highest quality HD videos (as in Blu-ray/HDDVD) whereas the X800XT won't as it's not "Microsoft Certified" or something...

Stick with the X800XT either way - hell, I was looking at picking an AGP version up until the 1950Pro dropped to around £150.

the 800xt eats the xt550 alive
x1300 is ATIs cheapest x1xxx series is it not?
either way, x800xt does eat them both alive.
Even if it is AGP and they'r both PCI-e, i doubt the later two could even saturate an AGP bus.

Different generations etc yes. But the x800xt is by far the better card, end of.

^^ OH, and iv got an agp x800xtpe, it seems very capable of playing HD videos, certified or not :p like the other guy said, its raw power.

Well I was using a 9800Pro then got the X800XT, along with my Shuttle XPC system. it plays any game at full res/setting. Very impressed with the card. The reason I asked this question, was I built a AM2 system with a X550 card. I was very surprised when it could not run Carbon full res/setting. Where as my older syste runs it perfect. :D

Are we talking ripped material or actual Blu-Ray/HDDVD discs? There is no doubt that the X800XT will play HD material fine, but sticking one of the aforementioned discs into a pertinent drive and getting it to run at 1080p on a 1080p-capable monitor is another thing entirely. If it's not HDCP-enabled, it won't do it.

oof, really? im talking about ripped material, or HD content videos. Thats a shame, the cards capable of it. More money making bs?
Oh well, my monitors not widescreen anyway so i hate watching things on it, I was planning on investing the parents money in a 360&HD-DVD drive for it anyways for their glorious HDTV :)
looks like hes a gamer anyways so the 800s the way to go

Been happy with my X800XT Pciexpress version also, not a bad card for £100, obviously woulda gone for a second hand X1900XT or even a X1800XT but I stole this card off a m8 free ;)

It still plays any game on full settings but minus the AA/AF.

I think it will still play any game in 2007 fine as well but will see once Supreme Commander/CnC3/Crysis/Stalker arrive in the next 10 weeks ;)

Well I don't need all the blu ray stuff. Just play games. So my card plays all games I owen and know of just fine. Full res/settings/af/aa. :D

Thanks guys!
