Since buying a X850 XT PE from Overclockers in december i have strange black spots
appearing in Battlefield 2 and 3Dmark06. I have tried turning off every setting
in the ATI Control Centre to see if it removes them (dynamic lighting, shadows,
anti-aliasing, etc) and tried different resolutions but nothing gets rid of the
black spots.

Here is a screenshot which circles the glitches i am talking about

I have tried different versions of Catalyst drivers, also i have reinstalled the
operating system and the problems are still there. I also fitted a new Power
supply unit which is a jeantech 600w. This problem seems to only occur in high
end games, less graphically intense games are fine. I suspect this be a problem
with the graphics card itself as the problem occurs on other computers that i
have tested the card in. What do you guys think, any suggestions?

It is running at stock settings, i have ran the artifact tester but it showed nothing. The problems only occur on graphically intense games such as bf2. Also in 3dmark06 which is also very intensive on the graphics card

as you have said that its doing it in other machines aswell then would seem to have developed a fault. Would be worth getting in touch with OCuk and see what they say, but the only problem is they don't seem to stock the xt pe's any more so wouldn't be able to do a straight replacement.

The x850xt pe is the most powerfull card available at the min or maybe the 6800 ultra but again no-one has them. the 7800gs is due out early feb and its been said that it will be slightly better then the xt pe but will support sm3.0 and all the other fancy things the 7800 series has.
