Right, I have found out what was wrong with the card/setup of my PC

Basically, I bought a new X850 XT from OCUK, got it home, connected it to my LG32LX2R, and when I went into a game, the screen was going into "Power saving mode" I had it connected to the TV with DVI to DVI.

Anyway I sent it back to OCUK, who have sent it back "not faulty". I phoned them up and told them what was happening etc, and after I explained my situation offered a refund. Anyway with the easter break, I have kept onto it, and again tried to get it working, and no same thing, until I connected it to the VGA (gfx card) to DVI (TV) and all is well grrr *!"^%%$%^$*!*!"

So My TV is thinking that their is not a signal going though when I watch TV, play games/videos though Windows MCE2005 DVI to DVI.

So yes got it sorted this far BUT...........

Am I now losing signal quality using VGA (PC) to DVI (TV LCD), and also, anyone know how I can overcome the LCD/Gfx card telling my TV that it is not sending a signal?

I am going to link this into the Home Entertainment section etc, and see if they know as regards my LG32 LCD.

Please can someone help.

Thank you

VGA - DVI shouldn't have a quality loss to be honest.

I have seen some posts on another forum by people saying older versions of the firmware have a problem sending EDID (?) data and this prevents some DVI connections. IF you could find out what your firmware is and let me know i'll be able to confirm, if it is that problem it needs to go back to LG and isn't your card.

To get into your firmware you need to access the hidden service menu in your telly. This is done by Pressing Menu on Both your TV and Remote at the same time, however it does need a password, but this can be bypassed if you let go of the buttons the VERY instant the menu shows up. It's tricky and will take several tries before u get it, but that menu will tell u ** firmware version.

Thank you for the reply. as follows

Cortez version 3.6
Hudson version 3.6

Thank you
