X850Xt or 7800GS

Powercolor ATI X850 XT £200

Point of Veiw Nivida 7800GS £205

My system is

AGP
P4 478 3.2@4ghz
1Gb OCZ (see sig for more info)
Raid0 on the way

Now what should i go and get and why? I've been told the Nivida but i like the looks of the ATI.

Help please cos this will be ordered any time soon, well next 2 hours or so

First of all don't buy the Point of View 7800 GS !!!!
Reason why is because for £5 more you can have BFG model which is clocked faster, is superior build quality and has a lifetime warranty.

Yes I would go for a 7800 GS over an X850 XT.

P.S. The PowerColor X850 XT is now £185.00 Inc. VAT, so if you go for that you'd have plenty of change left over.

i prefare ati quality compared to nvidia, i went from a bfg7800gtx oc to an x1800xt and was thrilled to bits with the difference. all i need to get now is a x1900... mmmm

what's that got to do with this one? :confused:

the linked thread is quite specific to people who already have a highend agp card....

the OP is this thread has s478 so his options are very limited and a decent agp card is the best option, imho.

x850, in the latest games like Fear/CoD2, the x850 wallops the BFG OVERCLOCKED 7800 GS.

so go with the x850 and flash it to pe, wipe the floor with that 7800gs.

It did cross my mind to flash to XT PE, it'll also be volt modded to. Could well go under various types of cooling too

Water & TEC
Air & TEC (i know i know but this gets cold enough, got it to 10c last night)

Well take a look at this one here , even the x800 XT PE wallops the BFG 7800 OC GS in Fear/CoD2, so if your gona turn it into a PE id go for it.

Oh yeah SM3.0 thats been arounds since the 6 series, and those games are flooding out NOT, i would'nt even consider SM3.0 as by the time you upgrade again there still won't be many games out using it.
