I'm using Ati Tray right now to find the max for core and memory. What i'm wondering is what constitutes a good OC for this card on both core and memory, at the moment it has found a max core of 589 and i'm about to test the memory.
I'll probably set it back to stock after i've done this but i'm a nosy git :p

Cheers,
Zeph.

It's just finished testing and it's found maximums of 589/621. This seems not bad to me when comparing those speeds to other higher end cards @ stock.

[Edit - gives a huge increase in 3dmark05 scores, well huge to me :p . 6250 with the card at stock and everything else on the computer the same as it is now and 6897 with the card OC'd to 580/610 (pulled them back a bit from the max found on Ati Tray).]

what card temps do you get when you are testing for max core etc. ?

mine got to 78 deg then sytem froze (as well as me!!)

Max the GPU got to was 69C. But i'm using a Zalman vf700cu

I hadnt really thought that overclocking the g/card would make so much difference, but by god it makes a helluva difference to games! :)

I have the same card as you and I also notice the difference in games and benchmarks.

Unfortunately I can't go any higher than 580/580 before I see sparklies or lock-ups but it is still well worth doing for that bit of extra performance!

What setting is your Zalman at? 5 or 12v??
You get similar max clocks to me and it helps sooo much in games. Not bad considering the xt pe was about £70+ more than the xt and ran at 540/560 stock.

hi how did you get such high speeds? im using ati tool and it maxses at 560/604 and the temp doesnt like goin past about 62degrees i have a articcoller 5 on it but it doesnt seem to make a masive difrence can i speed up the fan or something? chears

I got a ATI X850XT PE with a Zalman CF-V700cu on it.

When I use ATI Tray Tools and let it calculate the max speeds for both core and memory, everything looks fine in the benchmark screen from the tools.
However, when I do anything else I get glitches like crazy. Even 2D stuff gives it.

No idea how ATI Tray Tools calculates my max speed, but it sure is weird.

Anyone else had this?

With an arctic cooler, my X850XT (not PE) tops out @ 560/620, so I run day to day @ 555/615 (near enough). Oddly enough, I never got sparklies or corruption, it just failed to work at higher speeds. The AC made no difference to my overclock...but I don't need ear defenders now and the temp never goes above 65c

i got one of my x850 cards (one master the other PE) sitting at 590/635 using the Sapphire Redline Program but im not sure if the second card is the same
