X850xt to xfx 7800 gtx

Hello all

I have a x850xt and I am getting a xfx 7800 gtx.

My two questions are:

1. Will there be a good improvement or just a slight improvement in game play?

2. How much us the x850xt worth?

What kind of price are you getting the 7800 for?? just you can get an 1800xt for £160 now which is a bargin and it will possibly be a better than the 7800.

7800GTX is better than a X1800XT but it just depends how much your getting a 7800GTX for as the X1800XT is only £160 inc. VAT

Ok then maybe i'm wrong, just i thought the 7800gtx is on par with the 7900gt, which out of the box is slower than the x1800xt. If i'm wrong fair enough but at £160inc vat the x1800 is still a complete bargin.

and your forgetting the extra 4 pipes on the gtx
and the x1800xt is faster than the gtx
the 7900gt is faster than the 7800gtx and at stock the x1800xt is faster than the 7900gt

sold my x850xt pe on AGP for 85 quid at auction recently. (was gutted as i paid 120 not too long ago!)

x1800XT or 7800/7900 will be a great boost, you should really notice it.

x1800XT 512mb is a good card to get.
7900GT is great too.

maybe you can pick up a x1900XT second hand or wait for 1900GT to be released.

would be a big boost but if youre paying close to £150 for it then its too much (especially if second hand). Because as said you can get the X1800XT new for only £160, which is faster than the 7800GTX 256MB.

I just went from a Sapphire X800 GTO² (soft-modded to X850 XT PE) to an X1800XT, and if you're talking about the 256MB 7800GTX then it's practically the exact same upgrade I just made and I can tell you now you'll see a huge difference.

If it's a 512MB 7900GTX you're buying then you'll notice an even bigger one, not because of the memory, but because it had its clockspeeds ramped quite a bit.

As said above a few times though, check your price first. If it's cheaper than an X1800XT then go for it.

Its more or less a swap. It is the 256mb version. I have swapped it now and it should work out to about £30-£40 I have paid for it.

I can already see an improvement when playing games and it just seems to be able to handle anything
