Hi guys.
Just noticed this in the last week or so and not sure what to do.

When booting it now takes over 1 min when it used to take about 25-30 sec,

The led shows it sitting at d4 which is (PCI resource allocation error.Out of resources)

my spec is 5930k. 4 x4gb corsair platinum m2 950 pro and pcie sm951

Ive tried rolling back to another bios. clear cmos moved gfx card etc

Any help appreciated,

hi guys an update Ive just cloned my 950 pro over to the sm951 and now IM not getting the d4 error? Might be an issue with the samsung 950 pro????

Meant to type last night.

Both use the pci bus, looks to me like it's being maxxed out.

What gfx card you using, is it on the top slot?

Is fast boot disabled?

Hi I tried to disable fast boot and that did not help, Strange thing is I now dont have a problem since I moved my OS over to the sm951 and using the 950 pro as storage, MY gfx card is the 980ti in the top slot but I did change the slots also. so I should really not be maxed out as I actually at one point had 2 x sm951 connected via pcie and the 950 pro on the m2 slot and never had an Issue only now when the 950 pro is the OS main boot drive

Care to share the specs of your computer, and the config of what is fitted where.

It may help us to try and understand more where the problem(s) could possibly lie.

Hi spec below :)
Asus x99 deluxe bios 2001
Intel 5930k
Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 PC21300/2666MHz CL16 4x4GB
Evga 980ti hybrid fitted in slot 1
Samusng 950 pro fitted into slot slot 3
samsung sm951 fitted into m2 socket (now os drive win 10 )
Superflower 1200w platinum

If you need anything else let me know. I have tried moving this around and re flashing the bios checked power cables but it was only resolved when I moved my OS from the 950 pro to the sm951, I might try the OS again on the 950 pro to see the the error code reappears

I've had a quick perusal of the motherboard manual...... and don't see any obvious reasons as to why you should have PCI resource issues.

( I don't see in the manual any reference to a d4 bios error code, .... but, I guess, that isn't to say that the error code you quoted doesn't exist as a result of a some later bios update)

I see you are running Windows 10....which nvme driver are you using? (Win 10 default, or Samsung?)

I don't know Win 10 well, has there been a recent update to the Win 10 nvme driver?

Im using the samsung Nvme driver 1.1, the bios code is in chapter 1 page 1-26

Im going to do a fresh install on the 950 pro using windows nvme driver first then the samsung nvme driver ver 1.0 then 1.1 to see if its that

Just a thought then...when did you originally update the Samsung nvme driver from 1.0 to 1.1...... as I believe the 1.1 driver is a very recent update.

Did your probs become apparent after doing the 1.0 to 1.1 update?

P.S. I somehow missed the third page of bios error codes in the manual :(

I think I had the slow boot before 1.1 but I could be wrong

Here's hoping the fresh OS instal has put the problem to bed, even if it isn't definitively explained how, or why. :)

Hi Trying, Ive not installed the samsung nvme drivers! I might just leave the Microsoft drivers on as the speed seems to be the same

I'm having the same problem

Using 980 ti in top slot and 3rd pcie x16 slot (sli mode)

sound card in last slot in x4 mode and 950 pro in m.2 slot.

did you change any bios setting to fix yours like the cph or secure boot?

Hi I replied in the 950 pro thread, It was a driver issue with mine do you have only one m2 drive? I uninstalled the Samsung driver and went back to the windows driver after doing a fresh install and it seemed to fix it

I also think its an asus x99 bug as I have read on a few forums and a lot of people are getting the d4 error also update to latest bios

also I just noticed you have sli and a sound card, Can you remove the sound card and see if you still get it as you might of ran out of bandwidth

Removing the sound card doesn't make a difference, going to remove the 950 pro and if my boot speeds are below 20 seconds am not gonna bother with it
