Which X99 mobo to go for?

I want to do some Overclocking and have decent options for a later date when newer cpus will become available.

I will no doubt getting the 5820k the kingston predator 16gb 3000 ram but just not sure what mobo to chose. The asus deluxe gets good reviews but is a bit steep in price, i see the gigabyte/5820 bundle but is the mobo any good for m2 through put and anything else i need to be aware of.

My brain dont seem to work as it used to and cant choose a decent board.

around £190 allocated

I just recieved my MSI X99A-SLI Plus and i chose it because a) it's on of the nicest looking ones imo and B) apparently from all of the reviews it's great for the price.

Thanks for the info, been looking around and so many to chose from i get confused lol.

I like the Asus deluxe and the msi godlike but my oh my the price is insane.

There is a new mobo from gigabyte that has much faster throughput on the usb 3.1 side but no idea of its arrival time or price.

MSI SLI Plus X99A is a pretty good board. Running one myself had it for a few weeks or so now. 5820k Overclocked pretty well on it also! :)

Pros:
Cost-effective choice of features.
USB 3.1 Type-A ports.
Easy to navigate UEFI.
Clean aesthetics.
Plenty of storage connectivity – 10 SATA 6Gbps and 32Gbps M.2.
Good audio performance.

Cons:
Routing of PCIe x16 links is not good for multi-GPU cooling performance.
VIA USB 3.0 ports are very slow.
Potential bug in the BIOS profile when manually adjusting some primary parameters.

usb 3.0 slow? anyone seen this?
Plus anyone had the bios bug?

I've got the Krait edition of this board (see sig). Very happy with and had no problems with the Bios. USB 3's have been fine although I use the 3.1's on the back for my dslr uploads and Samsung external hdd.

It overclocks nicely too and whilst my 5820k is currently clocked to 4.3, it can reach 4.5 no problems with a little extra juice.

If you're going to be going with the m.2 SSD then I can confirm that I had no problems with set up there either.

3 Days from pay day and still on the fence as to which mobo is best for the £220 mark, the more i read the less i can make my mind up lol.

Wanted usb 3.1 and the 32gb m2, but then i read usb 3 is slow on the msi x99a and the SOC champion i dont think offers the feature set i wanted.

Decisions decisions.

That last one does put a few things right with the current board, but the SOC Champion is a beast.

now in stock most places, asked ocuk when theirs would be in stock if at all and the motherboard guy isnt in today.

Ordering cpu/mobo/ram on wednesday, fun times :D

Apart from the USB3.1 and the extra m.2 bandwidth it should be the same as the older (if it can be classed as old) non-P.

If you want to OC then the SOC is king and a lot of that is due to the BIOSes being constantly worked on by the in house overclockers.
