Depending on Skylake reviews, I think I'm going to upgrade to X99.

I want this build to be mATX, but can only see the Gigabyte Gaming 5 and Asrock Extreme 4 in this size. Is there a reason for such a poor choice?

Don't quote me on this but due to the lane increase on X99 most people are probably going to buy it to do tripple/quad SLI/Crossfire so a mATX board would be relatively pointless other than to get the extra cores. I think that's why their aren't as many mATX X99 boards as it is the enthusiast platform which is centered around ATX and upwards.

EVGA have a decent MATX X99 board :)
The EVGA X99 Micro

You'll have to go elsewhere though as Overclockers don't have any X99 EVGA.

Been wondering this too.....apparently the Asus x99-matx-ws board will be out next month or so. Evga have the second revision of their x99 micro starting to come out from next week they said, moved sone things about and has a better m.2 slot and has USB 3.1.

Would love to see an Asus gene 5 or something but doesn't look like it's on the cards... :(

EVGA now have the X99 Micro 2

That Asus board looks nice. I've heard about a lot of boards having a 'slow' m.2 connection. What speed is the proper one?

Hoping ocuk stock the evga x99 micro 2 once the units get here to the eu as they are selling in us already :)

Hint hint

Working on it with Scotty today.

Sorry only just returned from holiday.

Ben

Don't suppose you know if EVGA are releasing any version 2's of their other X99 motherboards do you?

A full ATX version of the update micro would be great.
Plus I think a mATX board in my large midi case might look at bit daft.

On a side note, the position of the M.2 slot does seem a bit odd, as you're most likely going to have a graphics card in slot one.
