Hope someone can give me some advice as I know nothing about X99. I have read that to use faster speed memory you have to use a divider?

When on X79 using the 125 strap you lose down clocking at idle. I presume this is different to using a divider on X99?

So two questions I guess. What is the fastest memory speed X99 can run at without using a divider and are there any downsides to using one?

Thanks in advance!

The fastest memory you can use on X99 without 125 strap and ram divider is DDR4-2666MHz AFAIK.
I'm using DDR4 2400MHz which the board itself set it to.

Thats incorrect.

Many memory dividers are currently working on 100blk strap. 3200mhz is fine for example no issues on RVE and Champion.

With 100 BCLK, the memory dividers go all the way up to 4000 on the X99-S. From 2666 the options are 2933-3200-3467-3733-4000
Cant comment on the stability, as I'm only running 2666.

^ On launch not even 3200 working properly. Now fixed though also 3400 working now.

I only test Champion Rampage as these are my system boards and bench boards. Others should work yes but Bios support is behind compared top the enthusiast boards.
