I've got a choice of components for my main system and have settled on:

Asrock X99M fatal1ty
5930k @ 4.4GHz
1080ti

I've got two sets of memory to choose from, and have to confess I'm not sure which to use.

  • Team Group Dark Pro "8 Pack Edition" 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C14 3200MHz
  • Corsair CMK32GX4M4A2400C14 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (4x8 GB) DDR4 2400 MHz C14
What would play nicer with the X99 system?

By the way, I paid £155 for the Corsair kit; now £350 and I paid £150 for the Teamgroup kit which is now £230. Prices have gone mental.

So, slot the 16GB Teamgroup sticks in there?

And poster #2 you're not impartial. :p

Edit: actually, @8 Pack you previously advised me on settings for the 8 Pack Teamgroup sticks for a Skylake system and I'm wondering would it run at these settings on X99 or would I just load XMP?

3600mhz 16-16-16-35 1.45

3600 is very high on x99 imc. C14 3200 realistic setting to aim for.

As above, not a chance. 3400 is the best one can hope for, and often that is conditional - 3200Mhz is the sweet spot on that platform
