X99 RAM Upgrade Question

Hi all,

I'm in the position of wanting to upgrade my RAM. I had one module fail and need to go through the RMA process, but this machine is also used as my work PC, downtime is tricky.
I use it as my daily gaming, working, surfing, general all rounder rig.

I'm looking to upgrade to 32GB.

With X99, from the reading I've been doing it seems like DDR4 2666Mhz with a low CAS timings is the sweet spot as I understand the speed benefits start to really drop off after this (owing to higher CAS).
I'm looking at the two kits below:
Corsair Vengeance 32GB
Kingston Hyperx Predator 32gb

My rig is:
CPU: 5820K (stock)
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth MKI
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000Mhz CL15 (well, currently 12GB sadly).
GPU: EVGA 1080 FTW

I'm curious if anyone has a similar setup or has gone from the differing RAM speeds and whether it's made a noticeable difference?
Also whether the extra £70 for the Kingston set is worth it?

As my board supports Quad channel, I've been aiming at using a Quad kit.

Any thoughts (even if it's to say worst idea ever) are much appreciated!

If I was you I woudl get 3200mhz C14 8Pack Dark pro two dual channels kits which is working perfectly in quad or the 3200mhz C14 quad set linked below.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...3200mhz-quad-channel-kit-black-my-094-tg.html

Both this kits use the far superior Samsung IC and thus can overclock higher and run tighter timings than the non samsung based kits you listed. These kits can often go 3333+ while maintaining C14 and even higher if your CPU can run higher....

Thanks 8 Pack!
Think I need to get down to Specsavers as I managed to not see that RAM after trawling through the RAM sections......
Prefer to keep RAM speed 3000+ as knowing my luck, next upgrade will have a processor that sings with higher memory speeds.
QQ, from your experience, have you seen much in terms of gains of RAM speeds on X99 platforms?
