So my XB271HU is starting to show signs of giving up after being my main monitor for 7years.

I am looking for recommendations on monitors which are an upgrade for this at a reasonable price.

If memory serves me correctly I paid £700 for this back in the day and I really don’t want to spend that much on its replacement.

Currently have a 3070ti and an i5 12600k so don’t need anything beyond 1440p.

Size can be 27” again or slightly bigger up to 34”.

No idea where to start these days.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks

So many choices
But rough guide to narrow things down
Up to £250 plenty of decent ips 1440p available at approximately 144hz--175hz
Up to £500 i would look at mini led
Over £500 you're starting to be able to afford oled
Especially if can get a discount on the dell dwf
Last i looked at those
With students discount i could get it for under £600
Though prices fluctuate often
Yes it's an older oled version but still a great monitor

After much thinking about it
I got an msi oled for £650 (34 inch x 1440p)
Sadly they just put those up to £900
Which is a ridiculous jump

was it the MAG 341CQP you bought?

I dont mind spending more im just being tight to be honest, i think most modern monitors will be an upgrade over my current and the OLED TV i have is lightyears ahead of any previous i had so maybe its worth the splurge. Though screen burn on a PC worries me more than a TV.

It did well tbf!! This is a good option if you want to keep it cheap :)

If you want to go oled I'm sure one of the 27in 240Hz models will get close to £400/450ish with the Black Friday deals coming up :)

The burn in concern is something you just have to make a decision on based on your usage. I was worried too but went for the 341CQP.

It's been fantastic so far and I'd highly recommend it, though as McNumpty said £900 is too much. If you can find one for around £650 (I'm sure it'll get there again) then it's good value. The Alienware AW3423DWF uses the same panel and is around £700 and often on sale for even less.

Alternatively there are several 27" QD-OLED 360Hz options, and some others that use an LG WOLED panel. That's if you're set on an OLED, of course.

yes it was
was also worried about burn in
but loads of manufacturers have now followed dell
and give 3 year burn in warranty

i did a few things anyway
set plain black wallpaper as guess all pixels
are off if its black
set auto mouse hide so if i am doing something
watching youtube etc the mouse hides after x time of inactivity
made myself a 1 click macro that shows/hides desktop icons
and put its shortcut on taskbar
forgot what else lol
might not be required but cant see any of those
not helping
and took very little time to set them up anyway

at £650 yes i think its worth it
at £900 i wouldnt have i would have looked at the dwf
or just waited longer until prices dropped

should also mention this isnt the latest panel technology
thats in the 4k x 240hz panels if i remember correctly
some people might still find text isnt as good as an ips
hard for me to comment on that bit
as i install google dyslexic font and tweak my fonts/text
to what works for me
