I used to have my 360 connected to xbl through my pc's 2nd ethernet port and it worked very well. However, i've bought an ethernet switch just because i wanted things to look a bit neater.

I've plugged everything in and the switch works fine and the pc connects to the net with no problems. However, my 360 doesn't. I've done the connection test and it succeeds the ip test but not the dns test. Any ideas on what to do cos i don't have a clue.

The switch is a Netgear GS605 5-port and thats connected to a Belkin F5D7330 wireless access point. Thats in turn wirelessly connected to a 3com wireless router.

Thanks:)

Right, through your pcs second ethernet port, so you were using ICS? And you set up your xbox with manual IP and DNS settings yeh?

Have you tried putting everything back to auto if your router is dishing out IPs through DHCP?

The xbox was set to automatic settings and the ethernet port on the pc connected to the access point was set up for sharing.

It was the cable that came with the xbox. I think it's a patch cable but i'm not entirely sure. I know the cables from the pc and access point to the switch are x-overs though.
