I know there's an Official XBMC thread but this would probably get lost so I decided to post a new thread :p

I have the official xbmc remote app on my PC and it was working up until a few weeks ago but now it just can't find any hosts My setup is as follows:

- I have an old PC which is now my HTPC and it connects to the internet via a wireless adapter

- My main PC is the PC which has the Hard Drives that the HTPC accesses and this connects via ethernet (home plugs)

To be honest, it's all went **** up in regards to the remote ever since I got the homeplugs which I'm sure is just a conincidence.

I have the webserver in XMBC on and all of the correct settings enabled. I've changed the Ports on XBMC and tried a whole lot of different things and different apps.

The PC that XBMC is on is Windows XP and I've had the firewall switched on and off and no difference :( People have said to have a look at my internet settings so I went in (BT) and had a look and set the IP address to static but no change.

Would anyone have any clues?

I'd have spotted this if it were in the main thread ;)

I'm not sure how up to date the official remote is - did you recently upgrade from Eden to Frodo?

You may want to try Constellation.

Additionally, can you get anything by opening Safari and entering the details of your XBMC instance as such:

http://user:password@ipaddress:port/

I did upgrade to Frodo but no joy so downgraded to Eden and still not joy lol.

Constellation doesn't work... I've tried about 5 different apps.

Yes, I can access the library through a browser but I want the remote to work :(

I believe these remote applications make use of the same port as is specified in the HTTP settings - so if you can navigate to the XBMC web interface from your iPhone, I can't see why the app wouldn't. It's all internal networking, so shouldn't make any difference what your ISP is doing.
