It is surprising, NA was PS4s launch and priority, even dumping its homeland market to push sales in NA, and they got to sell it first in that territory on the opening weekend for a new console, and they still didn't make it.
Yes, no one thought the XO would be an out and out failure, but they sure as hell mostly said the PS4 would rubbish all over it, and it hasn't, even with the best possible advantage given to it.
Why would Sony go up against the Xbox without having an adequate supply of product? They surely knew all the reports would be 'Xbox beats PS4', and that that could turn more people towards Xbox.
Could be Sony rushed an unfinished PS4 out the door.
