I had scratching issues with my Xbox 360 DVD drive so bought a replacement off the bay. It is exactly the same model number as the original so am i right in thinking its just a case of swapping it over?
No because the keys on the drive are tied to the motherboard.
Easiest thing would be to try swapping the PCBs between the drives, and see if that works. Not sure if it works for all models, but I did it once with a Samsung or Hitachi drive.
