Dear Friends,

We own the above. The monitor is HD ready and has a DVI connection which I currently have connected to my Samsung HD725 DVD recorder via a DVI to HDMI connector plus audio.

Does anyone know whether I can connect my son's XBox 360 to the Samsung TV using the DVI-HDMI connection as per my DVD recorder above?

I should mention that the XBox will not be connected to the PC other than through our wifi connection.

I've done my penance and read through these threads but haven't found the answer to this conundrum. It's my son's birthday today, so an early reply would a thrill!

The 360 can't output a digital (DVI or HDMI) signal at the moment, all the connections are analogue only. You will get a great HD picture by attaching the 360 through a component cable (you get this with the premium pack or can buy it as an accessory). Did you mean the LE27T51BX? This has component inputs so would be fine.

You're only option would be component (if you're screen has it - I would expect it does) or a VGA switcher and a VGA cable.

Also, sorry for the late reply, I was at work all day.
Wish your son a Happy Birthday for yesterday from 'Nokkon ***' :).

Thank you both. You arre both correct as I discovered last evening. I was amazed by how easy it was to set this console up. Literally fifteen minutes, including setting it up with my wifi setup. As you'll gather from my naive question above, I'm none too well informed on these things. I was stunned by the quality of the graphics in the 360 games. The car racing and the boxing games are terrific. I almost regret my inability to manipulate a game pad as I'd love to have a go at racing around the West end in a Ferrari. My son is very happy, later we're off to Highbury to watch Arsenal play Bolton. A seven nil victory to the Gunners would make our lives complete.

Ahh, it was never gonna happen. I had Bolton for the win, thank god I never put that Accumulator on, I had it on every premiership game and got them all right (yes, including Middlesbrough) and had Bolton for the win with Arsenal scoring in the last few minutes, that would have cost me over £1,000.

Ah well, glad myself and RichL could help out :).
