Just wondering if anyone has a solution to a problem i'm experiencing with the Sky player on my xbox 360. When I try to watch anything I get video but no sound. Other sound effects outside the sky player (like when I cycle through the mini menu etc.) are also muted and remain muted until I reboot the Xbox.

However, when I connect the Xbox using a composite cable as opposed to the HDMI the sound works.

Anyone know what's going on? It's a bit of a pain having to switch to composite every time, as well as losing the HD quality.

You have the HD loss of sound bug mate. :(
The temp fix is to remove your HD then start the 360 up & then click the HD back in place once the dash is settled, Crap a.
There is no fix for this yet but the work around is to plug the sound into your Hifi & use those speakers which is what I've done, Brilliant surround sound but it a bit loud for late night rashing.

Cheers for the info mate.

I currently have the hdmi from the xbox to the TV, and then a digital optical cable running from the TV to my hi-fi amp. Not quite sure if that's what you mean by the workaround as I get no audio with neither the hi-fi speakers nor just the TV speakers...

I use a HDMI cable from 360 to telly & then the other socket/lead goes from my 360 to my hifi. It's only the HD sound that's effected, It's a bit of a squeeze getting both leads into the back of the 360 as the sockets are so close but they go in without forcing it or doing any damage to either socket/lead.
