Hello,

Just looking around the Xbox 360 setup and came across the audio setup theres 3 options,

Analog Output
Digital Output
Sound Effects

Which one should i be using ?

I have a HD TV connected to my 360 with a VGA cable ?

I am just using the speakers that came with the TV.

Thanks Ben

No idea what "Sound Effects" is, but you're going to need to be using the analogue 2 channel Red/White phono lead for your audio. Unless your TV has an digital optical input and a surround sound speaker setup to go with it, you'll not be able to use digital.

So you're currently using the correct audio.

I was wondering about this today, too.
I use the optical cable and it's set to "Digital Stereo" in the dashboard. The cable plugs into my HiFi. The sound from games comes out of the speakers perfectly but when I play a DVD, I don't get any sound at all. Do you need to have a Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder to hear DVD sound?

is the sound setting on the dvd set to dolby 5.1??
play the disc, goto menu --> settings --> audio ---> set it to dolby 5.1

i had this problem before with my dvd player, the sound was set to 5.1 and all i could hear was jus background sound, i then set it to 2.1 and then i could hear everything.
