Xbox 360 audio through pc speakers

Would that method work or does it only work for 2.0 speakers?

you need one of these to plug the 360 audio cables into
3.5mm Jack to Twin Phono Socket

and one of these to plug into the speakers with your pc :)

3.5mm Stereo Two-into-One Adaptor

well the method i posted would mean you dont have to worry about swapping cables around and it would be cheaper than getting a switcher, the downside is that if you had the pc turned on at the same time as the 360 then the sounds from both would come from your speakers :p

So do i need what you put or what DaveyD put

thanks

They're pretty much the same solution.

If you've got the official VGA cable you should already have a 3.5mm Jack to Twin Phono adaptor, which will let you plug the Xbox directly into your line in port.

The 2 to 1 3.5mm adaptor (or a 3.5mm switch) will let you plug both the PC and Xbox in at the same time and save you having to keep unplugging and re-plugging.

ok thanks, where would this plug into on my sub :o god i feel stupid today.

You should never use those plugs to merge audio sources, they are meant as splitters and you could potentially damage your sources by using one, get a cheap audio switch box.
