Hi all, I have a quick query. I have recently purchased myself a new monitor benq 24" dvi only. I also have an Xbox 360 which I would like to run through the monitor.

First issue is when I feed the picture through VGA into the monitor it doesn't look as good as if it were running through HDMI. I thought VGA was just as good? Or do I stand corrected?

Second note I have the audio running through the mic port into my PC so I can have audio through the PC speakers. But I'm getting this relentless buzzing, feedback of sort.

Any ideas on how I can resolve these issues?

Cheers chaps and thanks in advanced.

Tell me something I went and bought a HDMI dvi cable but it won't display a picture on my monitor with that cable, it only works with a VGA. I even purchased a dvi HDMI adapter with no avail, that was why I opted for the VGA which isn't the best to be honest

Ok, assuming the model is "BenQ V2420 24-inch Wide LCD(LED Backlit) 1080p", I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Can you get a signal from a PC through DVI or have VGA to DVi-I dongle converter to try?

Failing all that try resetting the Xbox's display.

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:

Remove any discs from the disc tray.
Turn the console off.
Turn the console on. (Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller).
Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this.
As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time.
The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console.

Hope this helps, otherwise I'd look into returning the monitor.
