Xbox 360 better than Xbox?

I have an original Xbox which is still lots of fun with Burnout 3, Forza Motorsport and Soul Calibur 2. I only ever play multi-player with mates (sitting in a room alone playing computer games seams frightfully sad!). Question is, in what way is an Xbox 360 better than the Xbox? I don’t have (nor any plans to get) an HD TV.

Would we have more fun playing an Xbox 360? I’m sceptical.

Yes.. Xbox Live is different to Xbox in many ways ;)
And Forza 2!! You'll love it. Better co-op play too

Well they don't make Xbox games anymore... so no new games.

I'm stumped by your question really. Shouldn't you be able to work it out for yourself?

Theyre not really comparable are they? Anyway you can play a lot of the original xbox games on the 360 so why not get one?

You don't need to use XBL to get the most out of the 360, the huge number of fantastic games speak for themselves, many of which can be played split-screen with friends.

You don't need a HDTV either as it still looks great on a normal tv, although HDTV is awsome.

It has better games IMO, or at least a stronger run of consistently good games.
You can play it on your PC monitor too, for HD graphics.

if you only play local multiplayer with your mates then get the best multiplayer console ever....

the nintendo 64

That is my logic... I'm looking for fun local multiplayer. So given that I don't plan on getting an HD TV it's hard to see how the 360 is better. I'm thinking the HD would help with split screen.

Are there any "great" games for 360? ie better than original Xbox?

Ah, that's interesting... though I only have a 20" WS 1650x... screen

I still think 360 games look better on a SD-TV compared to last gen games and also personally feel the 360 is a leap above it's older brother in the quality of titles released too.

Just to take the franchises you've mentioned PGR4 is absolutely amazing, Forza 2 (whilst not really my bag) is nothing but praised and the new Soul Calibur is out this year.

And never mind everything else; wireless controllers alone are a good enough reason to upgrade. Seriously, one of the best things of this generation.

And get GHIII with the wireless guitar too; your mates will love you for it.

That's the most expansive, yet subjective question I have seen here In a long time. Surely only you and your chums would know that. Go play one and find out.

Microsoft are doing a bundle offer now. For 229.99 pound you can get a XBox 360 Premium + 1 extra wireless controller and three games Viva pinata, Forza 2 and Halo 3. After seeing this deal there was no holding me back I at to have it.

Sorry I can't tel you folks where I got it due to forum rules.

That's more than enough, sat in front of it, it will appear massive. I've played on a 17" 4:3 before and when you're sat there it may as well be 100", you can't tell when you're engrossed.

There's a much, much, much better one than that going for £210 with Assassins Creed, Lost Odyssey and another game.
