Hi all basically my xbox 360 is not producing a video signal anymore, I can hear everything start up fine and the audio comes through the tv but i simply get a blue screen.

Im using a Toshiba32av504db and have been for the past week or so, connected via component. Its been working perfectly with absolutely no hassle, i even played on it a couple of hours beforehand with no problems but now this is happening from nowhere.

I've checked the cables are correct, the video cable is set to HDTV. Any ideas what this could be? Everything seemed fine only a few hours beforehand, i dont see what could have possibly changed :(

Try the usual things like switching to composite and if possible, another TV, however it sounds like your GPU has died.

Wrap your console in a towel! See if it comes back to life. This is only temporary.

Ive had the same problem and am trying to 3rrod my console by toweling it to death, but its not working as of yet, then I could send it off under rrod warranty.

Might be silly, but if your Tosh is anything like mine, check that you don't have something plugged into the Composite video connection at the side. This overrides the Component so all you'll see is a blue screen.

Graphics chip has gone. I had this problem. I fixed it myself as Microsoft didnt want to know as it wasn't red ringing.

I fixed it by doing the "X-Clamp Fix". Go Here for more information about it.

why not just call MS and tell them it has RROD'd - I know sometimes it can be a little intermittant when it first happens so they would have a job proving it. They would most likely just fix whatever is wrong and ship it back.

Looks like this is the only option open to me, im too much of a retard for the x-clamp option i reckon. Trust it to blow when i become a single lad :( and get an HDTV, had a good innings at least i guess

Actually does the towel trick work with this error? It seems like its to fix RROD, not my GPU issue.

Nothing else is connected to my HDTV so it isnt over riding, I tested on another TV with the same issue persisting.

Give MS a phone call and just tell them you got three red lights.
They will ask you one or two questions like is the light on the power supply green and have you tried it without the h/drive.
Just say you have tried everything they suggest.
They will e-mail you the labels to send your 360 for repair, box it up ring UPS job done.
When the repair centre get your 360 it will be repaired.
Two of my friends have already done this and had no problems.
The repair centre guys probably just strip them and fit new motherboards without doing any testing as they no its a major problem with 360s.

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:
1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
2. Turn the console off.
3. Turn the console on.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller.

Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is the controller where the upper-left quadrant light is on.
4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. This causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. So it's OK when the Xbox 360 console restarts.

Give that a shot
