Play and charge kit is great anyway, feels like I never have to recharge it, the ps3 controller on the, other hand demands that I connect it every other day & dont get me started on the wii controller...

If that's the case, and your not doing something daft like playing for 24 hours solid, then I'd say you're either exaggerating or somethings wrong with the pad.

My PS3 controllers (both DS3 and Sixaxis) both far outlast my 360 pad, either either with a battery pack or AA rechargeables in. I probably have to charge my DS3 once or twice a month with what I would call 'average' use.

The Wii's battery consumption is quite poor though I'll agree, but then it is having to do a lot more.

My PS3 controller is over a year old and I do use it a lot so the battery has probably got worse as times gone on. I just find my xbox controller lasts longer for some reason

No, but unless the situation has changed recently, the play and charge kit comes with the official rechargeable battery pack anyway.
