Hi guys

Just looking to know if all wired xbox 360 controllers work on windows xp or does it have to be the offical pad or will a 3rd party one like madcats work as well?

interesting question ive wondered this as well

in theory it should work exactly the same as the official one

but don't know 100%

i've tried a wireless xbox 360 controller connected via a charge and play usb plug to my windows xp machine, didnt like it as it didnt find any drivers. charges it up no problem, just doesnt let me use it as a pad.

any advice would be appreciated!

You can get a wireless receiver to use with the wireless pads, as for third party wired pads, i dont see why they wouldnt also work. Its great using the 360 controller with some pc games, had plenty of pads for the pc in the past and none have been anywhere near as good.

Play & Charge cable only carries power, no data.

You will need the wireless receiver.

you can get a very cheap dongle.. and use wireless 360 controllers with the pc (you can also download and install the software for wired controllers from the MS website, and use those as well). Not sure if OCUK do the dongle as I haven't actually looked.
