Xbox 360 controller to Xbox Series S/X controller worth the upgrade?

The Xbox Wireless Controller was updated a third time, this time for the Series S/X consoles.

The third-gen Xbox Wireless Controller and Wireless Adapter for Windows is currently £52 on Amazon, which is the cheapest it has been for a while.

However, £57 is still quite a lot of money, especially considering I have no major issues with my Xbox 360 controller in any games.

Are there any features I'm missing between my 360 controller and this controller?

Only thing I can think of is the rumble(?) feature in the triggers.

I've only got one game I can think of that uses it and that's Forza Horizon 4, and while I like it, don't think it's worth a change for that.

Biggest difference in controllers is when I got an elite one pad from the MM.

The back triggers are a game changer (for me), but whether it's worth £150(!) is another matter.

They're a bit different in feeling, especially the shoulder/bumper buttons. I definitely prefer the 369 pad, although that may be down to being used to a 360 controller.

I love the new Xbox Series controller. It’s the best one yet and the textured grip on the back makes it feel really nice to hold.

Had an XB1 console, and the 360 controller on PC at the same time. But not got the new Series controller.

If the bumpers are the same as the XB1 controller then i'd be wary. I could never melee properly on Halo with the XB1 controller, and i played it a lot. But on the 360 controller it feels natural despite a massive break from using it. The XB1 bumpers feel like you need to move your fingers on the joint at an unnatural angle. Dpad and buttons were all downgrades imo.

I am still using my 360 Wireless Controller (on my pc) that came with my 360 back in 2005! However I’ve been getting a lot of stick drift in games like Divison 2. Tried disassembling and cleaning (even around the stick switches) but that didn’t fix things.

Just like OP, I find the current price of controllers a bit on the high side really but I’ll have to jump in at some point.
