quick query for you ...

known problem - but a question about it

1:1 Pixel matching (black bars top and bottom) - in 1080p VGA - and fine

"fill" - and you get those dreaded stripes (annoying more than anything else) bottom left mainly on mine .. which you can get rid of by reducing the sharpness.. but anyway to save that setting ?

I kind of like the zoomed in fill version as it makes full use of the Dells large-ish size.

presuming its a scaling problem the horizontal lines -considering you don't get it in 1:1 ?

thanks, Mark.

Ah I wondered what those annoying lines were, I never used to get them on my 2405 but since swapping it for a 2407 I was pretty annoyed with that.

No, there isn't any way to save the settings.

I hate having to use it zoomed, it's not a lot of stretch, but it is noticeable enough to be extremely annoying. Bloody A03.

Yep I get the same. The only annoying things about the screen. Shame really as it'd be perfect otherwise!

Is it just this revision that does it?

Yeah, A04 introduced the 1:1 for full width or full height resolutions (you get the same thing with 1600x1200).

I find 30 is enough.

I'll just wait till we get an A04 in at work and swap mine :p
Cheeky beggar :p

Mine's actually got some issues I could use to justify a replacement. I just can't be bothered :D

If you have it on 'fill' you will, put it on '1:1' and it'll be fine

Nice one! Will 1:1 have any detremental effects on anything else? Desktop use or Pc gaming for example?

Sorted-ish....set sharpness to 30. And to 'Fill', otherwise I get those stupid black bars at the top and bottom...

Those stupid black bars that keep the aspect correct. I like having circles that are actually round rather than oval ;)

I can't game with it set to fill, the aspect being wrong gives me a headache with fast moving games. I can put up with it for films, after a few minutes I've completely ignored it.

If you're gaming on the PC you should be using a 16:10 resolution (proper panel resolution is best, if your rig can manage it) so that it scales properly to fill the screen.

I ended up just calling Dell when it finally annoyed me enough and got them to replace my monitor due to the backlight bleed it had in the top right corner. They swapped out my A03 for a nice A04 the next day so now I can finally use 1:1!

Yep, a lot of games look stupid with the full screen.
