Xbox 360 disc tray opening on its own

Hi all,

I'm having a strange problem with our elite, and wondered if anyone knew what the problem is:

Whilst playing games, the disc tray will randomly open about and inch, and then close again straight away, and then the power light will continously flash at me until i manually eject the disc and put it back again. After this it works fine.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on? i've tried having the console both horizontally and vertically but seems to make no difference.

No, all store bought standard games. It seems to mostly happen with red dead redemption, but has happened with others too

lol well thats always good but i have a feeling that he was joking and refering to if the games you play are crap and your xbox doesn't like playing it cause it feels insulted to play such bad games

Buuut seeing you play RDR we know thats not true

lol well thats always good but i have a feeling that he was joking and refering to if the games you play are crap and your xbox doesn't like playing it cause it feels insulted to play such bad games

lol! In my defence it was very early when i replied and i hadnt quite woken up yet.

More seriously, it could be the remote thing, but with something else to blame. The blue button or our PVR remote made our old DVD player switch on, and there was another button on the old DVD player remote that made the iPod dock switch on. Man, that was annoying.
