Xbox 360 downloading problem

Before I posted this I did a quick search of the forums and couldn't find anything similar, So hopefully there isn't a duplicate of this anywhere.

Anyway, My problem is that a while back, maybe 2 or 3 months ago, I purchased San Andreas on the Xbox Originals label. The first time it downloaded fine. However I had to delete it because the hard drive for my Xbox is only 20 Gb. Now, I've tried to re-download it this morning and the download gets to 1%, freezes, and then I get the message pop up saying
"Cannot Download Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"

However I can download other things from Xbox Marketplace, for example I downloaded Fifa Ultimate Team no less than 3 days ago and it worked fine.

I did a quick search on google and somebody has a similar problem but there were no suggestions as to a solution and I can't find anything on the official Xbox website either.

Anybody here have any ideas? Cheers.

All I can think off is to go into the memory blade and delete the partially downloaded one and try again? Have you tried that yet?

I didn't even think of that!

I've just deleted what showed up on the hard drive as " Unknown Game: 2.9Gb" Although I've just started the download again and instead of giving me the error message of before, I'm now just getting it stuck on 0% and apparantly it isn't pending it's an active download

That at least means it is doing something, I guess? Unknown stuff normally shows the full size of the attempted download and is a corrupted/cancelled download. Try it a few more times if the percentage does not increase.

Also suggest try downloading a demo or something just to make sure you are not having some sort of weird connectivity to the 360 Marketplace/download servers?

I've just cleared the cache on the hard drive and that's now worked. Seems to be downloading fine. All I have left to do now is download all of my game updates again. Cheers though mate, without your suggestion I probably wouldn't have got it working at all.
