Xbox 360 DVD playing ability?

I take it the 50hz setting is on the Xbox, right?

Just bought a Samsung LE40R51 beast for my PC and the Xbox 360 - just need to get my hands on a premium! :)

Thanks guys. I won't be using it on a PC TFT so hopefully it will display better at my TV's native res of 720.
 
Would anyone mind explaining what "tearing" means is regards to LCD displays? Is it similar to ghosting? I have heard a lot of people talking about displays tearing when playing the 360...and have no idea what they are talking about!

The problem with all consoles when it comes to DVD playback is the noise they generate. If you're watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster then you probably won't notice it, but it's darn annoying in anything with any subtly.

Thanks matey i needed some recommedations - i shall look into these, i take it their HDMI or Component or whatever and are HD ready? Im a n00b when it comes to things like this....appreciate all the help i can get :D
 
Ok - and that HDMI cable comes with the Xbox 360 Premium package, right?

My TV has a huge load of inputs on the back - HDMI appears to be one of them :)
 
Not decided anything yet really - but i will most likely get a decent standalone player. Is an HDMI cable going to be released, and is there a date?
