xbox 360 - E74 error

Hello,

Got the E74 error tonight which I believe to be a HDD error.

Unplugged the HDD and sure enough my 360 booted without a hitch. Plugged the HDD back in and it booted up fine, and has worked OK now for over an hour.

One off do you think? Not sure what would cause it though.

I tried calling support but was on hold for over 17mins so I gave up. If it happens again would support make me send back the whole console?

Given you were getting a HD error, they would very likely request the full package. However, you may find the error never happens again.

Just hang on to it for now.

Just seen on xbox.com forums that E74 means an AV cable problem?
