The biggest threat to the PS3 is not the 360 Elite, it's the 360 Core version. It does everything your average 14 year old gamer could want, and it's £215 (or more) cheaper than the PS3.

All thie "Elite" versus PS3 is rubbish. The standard 360 is easily a match for the PS3, provided you don't want a blu-ray player.

You may as well compare the premium to the PS3 as it's near enough identical to the elite.

Yeah, but most people (especially the media) see the Elite as a direct reaction to the PS3.

The majority of gamers are probably unaware of an elite version even being planned.

I doubt it, the majority of gamers use the internet and watch TV hence will almost certainly have heard about it. My Dad has head about it fgs and he hasn't ever touched a 360

And to follow this up, the majority won't see the extras over the premium as anything special either.

I can see it now, places telling people just how many mp3's would fit on 120Gb as this seems to be the only way they understand :rolleyes:

Ohhh gawd not this old chesnut again.
I have managed to stay outta 2 other PS3 'Heated Debates' today, of which i am proud of myself. But please, there was a thread about this about to days ago.
Couldn't this went in one of the Dozen other threads debating the topic?

I'd be shocked if the majority of console owners didn't also have a life and have better things to do than loiter on videogame websites! I'd suggest that the vast majority use their console on an occasisional basis, and their sole interests being the latest pro evo and/or GTA. In fact, they probably get the greater part of their video game knowledge from an infrequent browse at WHSmith whilst wasting time before their bus/train!
