hey all, hope people are well,

I'm thinking of getting a xbox 360 elitetomorrow to replace my old premium (it got the RROD) and I've called 6 times now for the labels..and they have not been sent.

Just want some opinions on the new chip and if anyone can give me any information. I wont buy an elite unless it's a new chip. I know theres a way to tell if it's the 65nm falcon due to the "175w" on the box.

Anyone had one or experienced any issues with them?

Slightly off topic, but are you sure your labels haven't been emailed to you? Have had to return a 360 twice and the emails arrived within minutes both times.

hi suarve,

Nope ive called xbox 360 support 6 times...and they all said my labels would be emailed to me within 48-72 hours.. the console died just around 10th December. I've checked my spam box and no labels in their either :( so in that time my console + my games have been collecting dust.

been getting withdrawl symptoms from Mass Effect though :O

I thought all of the xbox 360 elite consoles had the falcon chipset, maybe wrong though.

Also just to make sure you can check the power brick and it should have 175W on it.

yep...that's the falcon chipset. 65nm cpu, still got the 90nm gpu i believe, but no x-clamp, so the heatsink is much more reliable.

i think that's half the problem with the old ones. as the chips heat up the motherboard warps just a little bit, but it's enough to make sure the heatsink moves away from the gpu because of the crappy x-clamp. the new design, i believe, ensures this doesn't happen.
