Is there a card on the market that comes clost to the 360 graphics?

I am sure I read that the new playstation will use something similar to the new 7900GT.

the top ATI and NVidia cards have the potential to drown the XBOX 360 visuals....its games prgramming that really matters!

All the current top end cards will be better than 360 graphics when coupled with a decent system. I would say my 6800gt sli set up is better than my 360 graphics, I am finding the 360 struggling with the last two games I bought, in fact ive just got oblivion for my pc as the framerate on the 360 is terrible and i found it almost unplayable, Ive yet to install oblivion on my pc so fingers crossed it will handle it better than the 360 keep an eye out and ill post up as to what version runs best. :)

Thats only because programmers aint got to grips with it yet, which im not suprised about seen as they have only had it for 5 minutes, wait till they do get to know more about it, were going to get some stonking games on it when they do. :)

Not to sure, the top end cards like the x1900/7900 may be a bit better, or on par, i know the 360 whoops my x1800 XT, and the latest cards are just speedbumped versions of previous ones, 7900 is just a speedbumped 7800, and the x1900 is juts a speedbumped x1800. :)

The potential graphically abilty of the top end of gpu`s for the pc, coupled with a decent rig set up, will blow a xbox360 outta the water, provided the programming is done correctly.

I was under the impression the Xbox was was manufactured under a unified shader approach. Therefore not really a R520?? Im probably wrong so ignore me ;)

Like I stated above!

Games may look better on the XBOX 360 because they only have to program for one piece of hardware. PC games are programed for a huge ammount of different setups...not optimzed for one GPU... this is why you sometimes feel that the consoles are better. In six months the PC hardware will again have developed....again in a year and so on. The XBOX 360 will still be the same.
A high end PC has more power in general.

The X1900 is not just a speedbumped X1800. It has 48 pixel shaders compared to the X1800's 16.

xenos is achitechturally different from r520 but it has about the same power as an X1800XT. One of the top ATi technical guys even said so, so i have no reason not to believe him ;)

I know its got 48x shaders, they added some more to the x1800 and speedbumped it, its still just a x1800 its an x1800 with a few more shaders, and a speedbump, wow what a huge difference that is, the real next gen cards are the G80/R600, all they are doing at the minute is speedbumping their previous cards, and adding little extras just for the speed crown, and to get one up on each other. :)

Could have been called an x1800+, or an x1800 1.5. :D

i think the 360s graphics are beyond X1800 but slightly below X1900, considering it uses no singular vertex or pixel shaders, and i think the 48 shader brute power of the X1900 might take it above the 360

the 360 uses 48-way parallel floating-point shader pipelines
unified shader architecture which runs at 500 mhz but the chip also has 10 MB embedded DRAM for AA.

It has 512 MB GDDR3 RAM running at 700 DDR.

yeah but the main ram is shared between CPU and GPU i believe, which is where the PS3 is going to be different

no current cards will beat an xbox 360 not even 2 7900gtx in sli can do it.

reason is as time goes on, games become more badly programmed for the pc and the xbox games will improve over time so they will get better. if games were programmed properly then xbox 360 would look more like a ps1 compared to the power of current pc gfx card.

If they ever got a keyboard and mouse to work with the Xbox 360 or one of the later versions then I'd go for the Xbox anyday and save me dosh. Makes life so much easier and cheaper.

Do you think the 360 could respond quick enough using a K/Mouse set up?? just asking as all 360 games have a lot slower movement than the pc versions,, GRAW movement on 360 is so slow its painfull, is this to enable smoother gameplay??

On another note I just installed and played an hour of oblivion on my pc and ive got to admit there not much in it between the 360 and my 6800sli set up, in fact I think the 360 plays it better than my pc, although the slowness of the 360 version may let it do this? Visually it was almost identical, I didnt enable any AA or AF and my framerates were fine inside but outside I was don to 15fps in places and the loading area pauses are still there on the pc version, with AA and AF enabled and a constant 50-60 fps The pc would win hands down but alas my system is beaten by the 360, Im quite pleased with this actually as it justifies my getting the 360 now :)

Game benchmarks prove otherwise.
