I've been hearing that you can pick up some real bargains now HD-DVD has lost the battle and wondering if that alone makes it still worth getting the Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player?

Also do all the Xbox 360 HD-DVD Players still come bundled with King Kong?

My brother's one didn't come with King Kong.

You can pick one up for £50 if you shop around. I think that it would probably be worth it considering the amount of films you can buy for such a small price. Not the best example of a low price, but I remember when I was looking at nearly £70 for the Bourne Ultimate Collection. Now you can pick it up for £35. Some places are selling loads of films for £6 a shot. For that price, I'd definitely be going for one.

OcUK are selling the player for £37.59 inc VAT that's why I'm tempted. Who knows in a few years it may become a collectors piece. :D

They are £35 on the high street, i bought one saturday. I also ordered 40 year old virgin for £6, the big lebowski for £5 and planet earth 5 disc set for £19.99 Bargain!!!

And when i have a blueray player in the future i will just rip the discs and put them on a writable BD disc :D

I just priced up Hot Fuzz, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Transformers, Doom and The Bourne Supremacy for £35. :D

For that price, you can't go wrong. ;)

£50?

I've seen them as cheap as £10 recently :p

Had the HD-DVD drive when it first came out thinking 90% of the films I like would like would come out on that format, I sold it anyway but I wouldn't buy another one despite how cheap they are now. Your gonna find loads of bargains now but there's not going to be many DVD's to buy in the future so I wouldn't bother.

Just wish blu-ray's could be found that cheap, I bought De Ja Vu for £6.99 and it was the wrong blooming region :(

Bargain in my opinion :) I have quite a large collection now.
No difference in quality between Blu Ray and HDDVD. The Beowulf HD DVD is amazing....a landmark in hi def media. Check it out

You just stated 2 reasons why the wrong format won. :(

The player is worth it, but I wouldn't buy any of the discs knowing that they will probably become useless at some point. Buying the player and just going with renting the HD-DVD's is the way to get your money's worth.

Also seen them for £10 - cant post a link as its a competitor, but check out have a search around hotukdeals.com

Also lots of top HD-DVD movies for £4.99 around and about. I'd have bought one myself if my 2nd Xbox hadnt died. Switched to PS3/Bluray now

I thought about it but decided against it. I don't really buy films any more and most of the ones I would normally rent are available on XBOX Live

I've been thinking about purchasing one, pretty reasonable tbh and plenty of bargain HD DVD's available. Although i'm not sure how long the before any of these must haves (ie: Transformers, Shaun Of The Dead) arrive on BlueRay.

Heroes season 1 is on hd-dvd

got myself an ep-30 a few months back and have bought loads of titles for a fiver

tempted to also get the 360 hddvd as a backup
