i dont have this yet but can i use this as a boot drive on PC, so i can install windows?

Yes you can, I used it to install windows on an asus eee

No naming of where/competitors but can anyone confirm if this drive is still available for sub £20 anywhere? I know it was before but now I wouldn't mine one to assist with installs on my netbook.

A workmate spent a fair amount of time trying to track one down. Ended up resorting to that online auction place and got one for about 20 quid, used.

I grabbed one off there last night, a seller on there is selling a load of new ones, picked it up for £20 inc p&p.

Does that popular 2nd hand games shop have much stock? For £10-£20 it'll make a handy external drive. Can you still get Hd-dvds pretty cheap?

It sure sounds like the same seller, was it new as described and did it come with the remote? In the description it says that it may come with a european plug, did yours?

Yep, came with the remote and a euro plug, but that's not fixed connected to the PSU so you can just replace it with any 2 pin power cable (or cut replace the plug).

Received the HD DVD drive today. Sealed box and it is a UK model with a UK plug.

I bought the 360 HD-DVD last year I paid 35 quid. It's cool that Microsoft bundled the King Kong movie and full size official 360 remote. I also connect it to my Acer Aspire One to install things.
