xbox 360 hdd?

i have the slim xbox360 4gb, a friend told me i could use a regular Samsung F3 1TB hdd instead, is that true?

Nope. You need either the official drives for the Xbox 360 S, or one of the older drives removed from its enclosure.

anyway - can you run games from disc then?

i wanna purchase Dark Souls, will i be able to play it on xbox360 Slim 4GB? Never used it before so I don't know, still boxed...

Yes, it just means load times will be longer and the console will be more noisy.
