Hello posting this incase anyone has experience of the same issue or advice on resolving!

I've got an old style Xbox Super Elite that's refusing to work using HDMI on my Panasonic Plasma. I've tried different cables, proved the TV HDMI is ok by using a 1080P Blu Ray source and tried my Xbox on my friends TV's and it doesn't output a signal correctly on HDMI.

It's in warranty with Gamestation, but when I've taken it to be tested in store it works fine with their LG Televisions, apparantly on 1080P. So I've got an Xbox that refuses to work. unless it's in a Gamestation!

Any ideas? Xbox working fine using Composite. I've tried resetting display settings but nothing changes.

Cheers

Whats the firmware on it? It seems there was an update to fix issues

1.213

• To allow a better flow images by optimizing the display 24p / 96Hz.
• This update also addresses compatibility issues with HDMI X-Box and Amplifier Onkyo audio-video.

Running firmware 1.603.

Works fine using scart lead.

Doesn't work on mates Toshiba LCD or Sony Bravia 40EX over HDMI.

Gamestation being akward about it. Because It's a Super Elite (FF13 Special) and they'll struggle to get another locally, I'm expected to accept a refund and then top up any extra to buy a new console!

Well I purchased it as a preowned console. Although it's under a year old, Just I believe as the FF13 ones were sold first in March 2010.

I just wanted to avoid the hassle of dealing with Microsoft, having to courier it to Germany. Seems this might be the easier option, as Gamestation don't want to help in anyway.

I will not be purchasing a preowned Console from Gamestation again, nor will I be recommending anyone do so, they're customer service is terrible. I just want to game!

You're not using the same cables across all of your friends tv's are you?

Could it be an knackered cable?

Have tried different cables to be sure, but the cable that was in usee has been tested on another console to verify that's not an issue.

The point I'm trying to make is that sending it to MS will be far less hassle. The chances of Gamestation having another, spare limited edition console to replace yours are extremely slim. Microsoft's turn around times are very good these days and their customer service is prompt and speaks fairly good english.
