xbox 360 headset problem

basically the speaker in my 360 headset didnt seem to be working. So i couldnt hear people but they could hear me, i have to listen to them through the speakers. So i got a new headset and have the same trouble.

Any ideas on what it could be?

u sure you havent set up voice to be played through speakers ie tv etc and not the headset

also make sure the headset volume is turned up and not down.

yup tried it with voice through both and the headset, atm i have to just turn up the volume of the speakers and turn the game volumes down. Also tried playing about with the volume ont eh headset, still nothing. Ill see if i can try another controller

Will probably be the controller. I have a problem with one of my controllers where the mic won't work.

Annoyingly the other controller which does work, doesn't work when charging batteries.
