Xbox 360 Help/Advice

Guys,

Wondering if anyone can help me out with a couple of questions:

Bit of background first, I have an old old old 360 arcade as my second console for when I am away at work but the disc drive makes a horrible racket (so much so that I've stopped playing it!). Games still work but the noise is unbearable, so I was wondering if:

1. The magnet fix (i.e glueing the magnet back into place in the dvd drive) would help with the noise issue?

or

2. If I got my hands on a console that had RROD'd would I be able to swap the PCB and DVD Drive into my case?

just instal your games to the hdd if you have one. the disc will spin up for a few secs then go quiet.

I have a 20gb HDD attached r3d, but my problem is that I game hop quite a bit (i.e play a couple of hours then move onto other games before going back through them again - short attention span you see

As another question, would a 20gb ext. usb drive give me an extra 16gb of space ontop of the official xbox HDD?

Yes, as would a usb mem stick.

Great - thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated, will give the usb drive a try tonight......................when i eventually get out of work!!
