xbox 360 help (again)

hi all I have took the plunge and brought a xbox 360 yesterday :eek: £299 for
xbox 360 premium
two wireless controllers
pgr3
xbox live arcade
tony hawks projects
and for the missus sonic the hedgdchog.

a few Q`s if i may when i took the xbox out of the packaging if i hold it upright and move it about i hear a noise as if a screw is loose in it could somone else check to see if theres does the same? I asked me bro his does to but just want to know for sure.

last one i have a hanns g hw191d ws ive got the vga cable (official one) and if i set 1360x768 as me res it says its fine but if i press the options button on me moniter it says its running at 1256x768 or there abouts why? should i update me dashboard could that fix it? keeping in mind i have not got xbox live so will need to do it via pc and burn it to disk.

sorry for long post pleasee advise thanks all in advance. :D
 
armidillo yours makes perfect sense now yeah i can see how it would need to know that mainly for the dvd drive to work correctly or somthing cheers.

how about me other Q sorry hehe.
 
no probs if im wrong which i was i need correcting how else do peeps learn hey?.

do i need to register to get acess to dashboard update as i cant see it? just back compatibility?.

im stumped m8 can not find it anywhere maybe its live only just the back compatibilty is downloadable.i may have the latest version as i brought it yesterday how can i check?.
 
incase im trying to update when it may be the most recent.

ive downloaded it from the us site uk site seems to not have it up should i use it or not? as its not from uk site MMMMmmm
 
ahh 1920x???? is most deff not in optoins i know that for sure but may not display it as it would kill me moniter haha max 1440x900.

any one got link from uk site (here we go again haha).

im thinking i may need to register hooking abox to live aint an option right now to many probs like router in other room and not getting wireless adater..yet any way.
 
ummm still aint sure about updating haha.just been playing demo of need for speed carbon runs like a bag of crap freezes and all that why? i noticed this on tony hawkes projects any one else get this?.
 
id say poor frame rate and allso disk acess stutter/freezing does it on a few game tbh me bros did it when he brought it down to mine and we connected it to me moniter he said its never stutterd like that on his tv std crt tv via scart or the one with 3 colourd cables cant remember which.

i dont know about update i realy dont want to kill it sorry to keep going on hahaha :p
 
ok updated it i have the optoin of more resilutions now well one more any way haha.

for real guys its running slow like fps hits and acessing drive or somthing i know what fps hit looks like ive played games on a crappy pc befor haha.MMMmmm i may try a diff re see if it helps.
 
ahhh right may just be coding tryed it at 1024x768 still does it it pauses then continues and slows down sometimes to and nooo i aint hitting the slow mo button.
 
on me bros his one did it on saints row but he said it only happend since he put it on my moniter via vga i may try me xbox on me tv via the three colourd cables.

havent tryed pgr3 yet.
 
ok just had a race seems fine m8 may just be bad coding.

will post screenies in the coming days aswell for you with a hanns g hw191d ws will also try to post a vid of it running in nfs carbon to show what i mean.

does all your dvd drives rattle abit when reading disks?.
