Hey All,

I cant seem to host games on my 360 anymore (specifically crackdown) I just keep getting the "cant host due to your network settings" message constantly!

Here are the router details:

Router: WGT624v3
Hardware Version: V3H1
Firmware Version: V1.0.128_1.0.1

Im a right n00b at this sort of thing, but I have (i think) opened up the recommend ports and Ive switched off the firewall (i think) and I attempted to change the firmware but it wouldnt let me downgrade to a version that was on microsofts accepted list.

I never had any issues when I was using the Netgear DG834Gv2 it only seems to have started when I changed to cable.

Any ideas?

P.S Sorry if this should have been in the network forum..........

Just to confirm, the ports you should have open are/should be:

TCP 3074
UDP 3074
UDP 88

These should be forwarded to the IP address that your 360 has. Unless your router can reserve one for it indefinitely via DHCP you should set this to be a static IP address.

The reason for this is, imagine you forward the ports to 192.168.0.200 which is the IP address your 360 receives, via DHCP. If this somehow changes (lease expires or another machine leases that address) to say, 192.168.0.201 then your port forwarding rules will not work.

Dunno if this helps...
