XBox 360 how long left

Ok im getting an XBox 360 this weekend but im having the creeps. I keep getting scared

that in about a year or two it will die like the PS1 or something like that, i know it sounds silly but trust me i have had this happen to me before. How long roughly until they stop publishing games for the console lads?

PS1 games went for years didnt they?

I dont see it dieing out for another 3/4 years myself. Could be wrong.

i think its going to be quite a long time to be honest.

the competition arent exactly gonna rush them into it

and im guessing it would make sense for them to wait for the winner in the blu ray - hd dvd war

Its only been put for 18 months. I think we're look at around 2010 before the next generation comes around, maybe even longer.

People are still buying PS2's. It seems obsurd to even be worried about this for a console that hasn't even begun to reach maturity yet.

Technology is moving at an incredible rate at the moment tho isnt it. So i believe that we'll see a newer console earlier this time around

Probably wont be a new one until they have made a decent amount of money on this one, i would say later rather than sooner.

Thats madness!

Xbox 360 still haven't hit a sweet spot and Microsoft will release updated version this year with cooler processor. There's plenty of life in it!

Even PS2 is outselling PS3 in Japan! :eek:

But technology is always moving at a heck of a rate, I dont think that will effect console releases or we would have a new on every two years or so!

3-4 years, it wouldnt be a viable (or sensible) way to do things to introduce a new console earlier than that.

Probably depends on how well the PS3 does.

If the PS3 does well, I can see MS coming out with something technically better than the PS3 in 3-3.5 years.

If the PS3 doesn't do so well I can see it lasting a lot longer, but MS will still try and beat the PS4s release.
