Ok so im skint now i bought my 360 but i want to add some friends to my roster and check out marketplace. i currently have my PC connected to my wireless router via wireless dongle, and my 360 connected to my PC via ethernet cable that was supplied.

the only trouble is that when it tells me to use "connection sharing" my PC gets the error to do with conflicting IP addresses so naturally xbox wont connect.

is their a work around or would my PC need to be connected to my router via ethernet cable and not through my PC. dont think im going wireless for a bit on the xbox.

I just bridge it

job done

i get an error message with that, says i need two high speed connections that are not being used by internet connection sharing, i dont really know, its probably because im trying to bridge wired to my wireless dongle, should work in theory though.

turn off ics, just bridge only

all u need to do mate

Im connected same way as u

still doesnt work, blatantly happens to me as i am an Network technician apprentice .

i diabled ics, repaired wireless connection and tried to bridge still doesnt work.

I will try it on my lappy see if i get the same problem or if it works. just got back of customer services with an competetor and im getting Halo 3 for £15 because i didnt see the offer, yay. sort of mixed barrel of jollies.

try changing the routers ip allocation range, windows needs to use 192.168.0.1 for ics to work, if you change the range to something well away from that it should work, thats how i fixed the issue

All you need to do is check the "share this connection" box in connection properties. If you still have problems bridge the connection.

If your a network apprentice and can't sort a very simple problem like this then you should be worried :)

It works on my laptop but not on my pc, and yes my IP address is 192.168.0.1 so it should be working. i think the problem is that the dongle requires a programme for it to connect to the router and my laptop has a built in chip.

more than likely have to use my laptop to connect to xbox live now as the dongle's software seems unsuportive. (as my laptop works fine with ICS)
